World 6th ranked player Justin Rose continued his spectacular Autumn run with a win in the Turkish Airlines Open – his 10th European Tour title.
The Englishman, who finished 18 shots under par, took the title by one shot from joint runners-up South African Dylan Frittelli and Belgian Nicholas Colsaerts. Ireland’s Padraig Harrington was fourth, one shot further back.
After the event Padraig Harrington said he was happy with his performance. “I know I didn’t win the tournament but Justin obviously clearly went ahead and won it. I didn’t lose it. I made it quite exciting at times out there”.
The victory at Antalya’s Regnum Carya Golf and Spa Resort was the second in as many weeks for Rose, having taken the WGC-HSBC Champions title in Shanghai. The win pushed him up to second place in the European Tour rankings, less than 150,000 points behind Tommy Fleetwood.
Both wins involved fight backs. That in China was earned by overcoming a final round eight shot deficit, that in Turkey by racking up birdies in three of the last four holes.
