It might not be St Andrews, but then St Andrews doesn’t feature moving walls and Inca-inspired hazards.

The new £1.4m indoor adventure golf course just opened in Belfast’s Cityside Retail Park is the second such course in the UK. It is owned not by Donald Trump but by Lost City Adventure Golf – the brainchild of Ulsterman Lane Scott.

His first foray into miniature golf came in 2013 with launch of a Lost City Adventure Golf course in the basement of the Cornerhouse complex in Nottingham City Centre. Creating the jungle environment reportedly cost over £1m.

The investment evidently paid off because the company has now moved on to open a new Lost City Course in Belfast. There are two 18 hole tropical rainforest themed courses: Sunken Skull Ridge and Explorer Falls. Each feature interactive obstacles and special effects.

Being indoors, the weather is guaranteed – there are simulated thunder and lightning storms.
